Sisterhood

Sisterhood is the collective presence, voice and strength of women within the BCRC community, known for its fun events and for providing an outlet for the creative energy, talent, and leadership potential of BCRC women. All of BCRC women, mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, or wives, are needed to contribute to the greater good of BCRC and our local community, and to weave together all our strengths!

We at Beth Chaverim’s Sisterhood have striven over the years to make our group both meaningful and fun for all of the Beth Chaverim women. In 2009 we’re trying something new - Sisterhood Sunday. One Sunday in each month, we will get together for an activity which may include:

Twisting ourselves into Hebrew letters during Yoga for Yentas
Sponsoring a lecture from a Holocaust survivor on Yom Ha’Shoah
Swapping the desirable (and not so desirable gifts) at the always popular Yenta gift swap
Attending a presentation on feeding our families healthy, organic and tasty meals
Having a pajama/movie night with our children
  Enjoying an afternoon tea/book sale
  Eating, talking and laughing

We will continue the traditions of worshipping together at our twice yearly Sisterhood Shabbat services, supporting our teachers through the appreciation brunch, helping our neighbors at the Loudoun Abused Women’s Shelter, proudly presenting our youth with mezuzahs upon attaining adulthood in the Jewish community, stocking our gift shop with beautiful and unique Judaica and works by Jewish artists, and doing all of the other wonderful things we do so joyfully and so well.

Please join the Sisterhood by sending in a $36 check to BCRC Sisterhood, 21740 Beaumeade Circle, Suite 100, Ashburn, VA 20147. If you’re new to Beth Chaverim, please note on your Membership Form that you are joining Sisterhood.

Become part of our Sisterhood – volunteers becoming friends becoming sisters.
