From the Rabbi's Study
A farewell letter from Rabbi Gallop
Beth Chaverim Welcomes New Rabbi
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Linda
Joseph as BCRC's first full-time rabbi. Rabbi Linda will assume the pulpit on July 1,
2010. The warmth of its members, the partnership between rabbi and congregation, the
desire for programming, and the sacred commitment to building a spiritual home and a place
of learning were all contributing factors that drew her to Beth Chaverim. We invite you to
welcome and meet Rabbi Linda at our events starting in July.
Volunteers Needed to Teach Religious
School in 2010-11 - Earn Tuition/Dues Credit and Make a Difference
We are looking for dedicated parents to join the team of teachers at the BCRC
Religious School. Teaching opportunities exist in elementary and middle school grades
(Hebrew and/or Judaics). Lesson plans will be provided and our teachers will
offer guidance and support (prior teaching experience is not necessary). Teaching is
a mitzvah, is personally rewarding, and a means to connect with Judaism in a
whole new way, while at the same time giving back to our community. Please
contact Sharon Chiat with any questions and to
discuss benefits (teachers may receive credit toward tuition or dues).
Musicians Needed for Shabbat Services
We are looking for musicians to participate in Friday night Shabbat services as
accompanists for our cantorial soloists. Our plan is to have a group of 3-4
musicians participate in one or two services per month. Guitar, bass, keyboard, drum
set, flute, clarinet, violin, are all welcome, as are any other instruments appropriate
for a religious service. Please contact Marc
Benezra if interested.
