Rabbi Jesse Gallop
Rabbi Gallop, a native of Minneapolis, MN, holds a BA in Social Science from the University of Denver and a MA in Hebrew Literature from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR). His achievements have been recognized with awards for academic excellence and leadership in the university community. Rabbi Gallop received the 2007 Rabbi Jill Kreitman Prize for exceptional achievement in history studies at HUC-JIR and was the University of Denver's Outstanding Sophomore Man of the Year for 2000. Rabbi Gallop has held social work positions as chaplain for the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York and as a director of youth programs in Israel, Florida, and Puerto Rico. He has been teaching and supervising Jewish education at the elementary, upper grades, family, and adult levels in Denver, Minneapolis, Brooklyn, and Ashburn. In his last three years at HUC-JIR, then-Student Rabbi Gallop traveled regularly to Northern Virginia to serve as BCRC's worship leader, educator, and pastoral counselor. Rabbi Gallop was ordained May 4, 2008 and joined BCRC as our permanent Rabbi on July 1, 2008. Rabbi Gallop joined Beth Ahabah Congregation in Richmond, VA as an Assistant Rabbi in July 2010.
